Situated, on the bay that bares its name, Douarnenez has evolved from its traditional fishing origins, into a contemporary hub for musicians and artists.

Proudly embracing its Celtic roots, fiercely independent, the town has established itself as a creative force in the arts, both traditional and modern alternative.

Annual festivals of cinema, dance, brass bands, rock/rap/punk/folk music, and the famous Gras, have placed Douarnenez in the national conciousness with Elle, Grazia, Rolling Stone asking what is in the water?

Where once Boudin, Renoir, Picasso came for the light, the landscape, the culture, now rappers, rockers, sculptors, painters, designers and writers move between the numerous port-side bars and restaurants, taking in a show, an exhibition or just the amazing views.
